  1. Unless something dramatic has changed with Hamas. It will probably be months before Hamas confirms Sinwars’ death if he was killed. If that happens to be true, it’s going to create even more issues within Gaza and dialog about the conflict.

  2. It took months between when Israel claimed Deif had been killed to when Hamas admitted the truth – I anticipate a similar length of time before we get Hamas confirmation that Sinwar is dead. He could also just make a video proving he’s still alive, but the longer Israel’s claim goes unanswered the more likely it is to be true.

Khaled Mashal, Muhammad Darwish, and Khalil al-Hayya in Qatar are the leadership of Hamas abroad, with Izz Ad-din al-Haddad and Mohammed Shabana (rumored to have been with Sinwar when he was killed) would be the presumptive leaders of Hamas in Gaza. Maybe someone among those men has the courage to end the war.

  3. And now there is nobody in Hamas who may claim to have a leadership position, and able to negotiate on their behalf… That doesn’t of course mean that Israel will consider Hamas to be destroyed – so the violence will continue until Gaza is Palestinianrein.

  4. On top of that, the guy was hiding underneath a hospital in a bunker. So can someone explain to me, how Hamas isn’t using civilian structures and in doing so endangering their civilian lives. Why does the onus lie on Israel?

  5. Has Israel actually made any real progress in destroying Hamas? There seems to always be more leaders and recruits to kill, despite how much they’ve annihilated the region
