I’m in a gerrymandered sacrificial stacked red district in NY so my rep in the House is going to be a RWNJ. One of my Senators is Chuck “strongly worded letter” Schumer so I can only really count on Gillibrand in the Senate to do a damn thing.
Every action by this administration is either pure stupidity, gratuitous cruelty, or rampant corruption. Anything that slows them down would be welcome.
Not going back too far, Let’s look at some of the things democrats have done.
1 Truth in lending.
2. The ACA.
3. The Child tax credit.
4. The American Rescue Plan.
5. The Chips and Science Act.
6. Caped insulin at 35$ for seniors.
7. Student Loan Forgiveness.
8. Reduced Prescription drug prices. These are just a few off the top of my head, Now someone tell me what have republicans done in the past 50 years to help the average American?
Exactly why the Democrats really, really need to take back either the House or the Senate and preferably both.
This nation and the Republic can still be saved from MAGA fascism, but 2026 is absolutely crucial.
if only the American people could wake up and give us an actual supermajority so we can fix America’s problems.
But they won’t.
they’ll vote us in with the most anemic of majorities and that’ll likely flip back by the time we get to the presidential race.
and if there are still free and fair elections the Democrat will likely win. But with no majorities large enough to pass laws and everyone will complain the Democrats didn’t do anything even though under our constitutional system the Democrats were never given the power to do anything.
If only the Democratic Party could ever get its shit together and be worth a damn again.
And removal if they get the senate too.
So exactly how the republicans acted when Biden was president
pretty much like the R’s did forever
So in other words they will do what House Republicans tried to do in the Biden administration.

They don’t fucking say. Now are they going to share any plans on how they plan to do so? Perhaps combatting gerrymandering? Implementing ranked choice voting? Abolishing electoral colleges and establishing true democracy?
No? We’re just going to keep begging young people to vote? Great.

I have a simple solution if the GOP doesn’t want the Dems to do investigations and impeachments:
Investigation: rolling the tape on the public comments Trump made and pointing at it.
… they said after 45 years of Benghazi investigations, stonewalling a SC nomination and general fuckery whenever they have power over a D pres.
It’s not like the GOP have not bogged down the House in ridiculous investigations! I am looking at you Margie Taylor Green, Jim (Gym) Jordan, and James Comer to name a few.
it is simple, don’t want to be impeached, don’t break laws.

Assuming Democrats would mount any sort of opposition is a big assumption. Still, it’s worth electing Democrats because they are less dangerous to Americans.
In our heads, we will impeach because of illegal activity. In their heads, if you have power you just screw all of them. Yes, I understand why they are afraid.
