  4. Good, there’s absolutely no reason not to have a reusable one, they’re dead cheap and the liquid is better value than disposables

  11. Unfortunately, people are buying the reusable vapes and throwing them away once they’re done. They need to be more expensive than just £6.

  12. The headlines about this are so fucking melodramatic. It would be more accurate to say “UK to force disposable vapes to have USB-C charging ports on the bottom from Sunday”.

    The anti-vaping crowd seem to be expecting vapemageddon, and they’re going to be disappointed when nothing really changes at all on Sunday.

  14. Just want to add, it’s not just disposable vapes that are the problem.

    It’s also the massive amount of people in this country who just don’t give a fuck and throw rubbish anywhere.

    The lack of overall care we the public have for our country is a fucking disgrace.

  15. This is extremely backwards, they should ban/fine the retailers from selling them not people using them. What happens if you bought 20 of them, are they automatically e-waste now despite not being used?

  16. I agree with this, but how are we going to enforce? The prisons are already full, and we’re releasing non-violent offenders to free up spaces.

  17. I hate to break it to you but shops have already started making the switch and the reusable ones are almost exactly the same as the disposable ones.

    The new Crystal vapes aren’t refillable but are rechargeable – so they are legal, but still single use because nobody wants to smoke an empty cartridge and inhale raw battery fumes.

  20. It’s quite funny that this isn’t changed a thing, companies have now just put ‘charging slots’ on them with no refillables in the shops.

  21. The law won’t change a thing. Most if not all vapes have the charging circuitry and simply lack the usb port. Many have an empty spot with solder pads ready for it. To add a USB port will cost a fraction of a penny per unit.

    They will just add a 0.01p usb port and change the wording from “disposable” on the box.

    The liquid chambers are already easily accessible.

    Some may have to alter the atomizer to make it easily replacble (though many of them already are).

    TLDR: They will still sell disposable vapes they will just have a change of packaging and a little extra e waste

  23. NOT CHANGING ANYTHING

    They are now selling ‘Refillable’ disposables, with a charging port and a separate liquid container to attach to the battery. They don’t actually sell any refills, so you’d have to buy another full package w/battery anyway.

  24. In about 30 years time we’ll see the real problems that will arise through vaping from people who have vaped most of their life. A bit like what we see with cigarettes at the moment

  25. This Won’t change the crap covered streets
    Of the UK anyway. Just add recycling bins for them.
    This is a lower cost and less work then policing, checking shops, hiring staff to investigate shipments and imports. Raise tax on them and add ways to dispose of them in Vape shops.
