Not sure how far back it dates, just thought this was interesting.

  1. this is actually so cute! Nice to keep the letter sending alive, and its rather cheap, no?

  2. Bought a stamp the other day. One pound bleeding seventy! That came as a surprise. I knew they’d gone up but thought they were still under a quid.

  3. I think the fine folks on r/Postboxes will enjoy this

  4. 24p would be 91/92 for first class, 2007 for second class apparently – fonts etc look more 1991 than 2007.

  5. I had completely forgotten about these! Pretty sure I used one back in the 90s when I had a few pen pals (pre-internet coz I’m old)

  6. The cost of 1st class stamps was last 24p in 1992. As that was the year they changed the sizes of 10 and 50p coins, I’d imagine they abandoned the machine rather than update it for the new coins.

  7. I haven’t seen those vending machine coin modules with the orange cancel button in 15 years. They used to be in literally every device that accepted coins.

  8. I bought 16 * 2nd and 8 * 1st today.

    £27.52

    Thieving, philatelic b’stards.
