  1. I have a ticket to see the Doctor Who series finale at the cinema tonight. Should be fun.

Aside from that, washing the bedding, rotating the mattress, buying food and then generally mooching about.

Managed to seal up the hole in the eaves where the parakeets were getting in, found a dead one in the roof space (it was like an oven up there thanks to the warm weather) and there was a live one as well, but it didn’t look too healthy and we couldn’t get it to leave or catch it as it kept crawling into the far corners and under the rock wool lagging.

Also, lest we forget: 20 years ago today, Brian Harvey ran himself over with his own car after “eating too many jacket potatoes”.

  2. Usual dog walk this morning whilst our daughter does gymnastics. This afternoon, we’re hosting a BBQ for my husband’s family. It’s the first time we’ve had lots of people over in our new house, so I’m excited but nervous! Our whippet is a prolific food stealer which doesn’t help 😂

  3. Thanks brain for the really depressing dream that has set me up nicely for the rest of the day.

Off to work today again. Couple of pain-in-the-arse customers said they’d be back today for a “long” shopping trip so I’m looking forward to that.

  4. Trip to town for Father’s Day presents (get them out of the way early!)

Loads of washing hopefully as the weather is nice. Got to make some running repairs to our outside table with some Gorilla Glue. Put some leather cleaner on my steering wheel.

Potentially some weeding as well if I have time.

  5. Isn’t that the epilogue level of Hitman : Blood Money?

  6. Porridge, coffee, waiting for the next baby snooze, then dog walk, BBQ later

  7. We are going on a family trip to Diggerland. There are dumper trucks, excavators, little mini diggers and you get to drive all of them! So excited!

I’ve wanted to go for ages, but Mrs Sockhead said I couldn’t go unless I took the kids.

  8. Taking my son and my mother in law to watch the doctor who finale at the cinema. He’s obsessed with the show, she loves watching it with him. She is in the early stages of Alzheimers, and they’re very close, so want to do as many nice things with them together before it gets worse

  9. On the static bike at the moment, then off to screwfix to pick up a catenary wire to run a network cable between buildings, pick up some PC lighting from an Amazon locker. Grab some snacks for film night with the family and finally try not to eat my own weight in pizza!

  10. As with every Saturday morning – parkrun! I’m not sure what else I’d do at 9am Saturday 🤣

  11. Mow the estate communal lawn by hand part 1. Reasons. Tidy garden, repot, maybe gym. Prep for kimchi making. Hopefully see fella

  12. Going out shopping shortly for camping supplies. I need a few odds and ends that will be useful for my stay this summer, as I don’t want to find myself in a field several miles from the nearest shops and think “oh bugger it, guess what I didn’t bring?”

  13. Finishing breakfast and setting off for another leg of our family road trip. Today, we have 350 miles to cover going from the Swiss/French border to the North of France.

  14. Servicing my cars brakes, and then having christmas dinner. You know, a usual Saturday.

  15. Off to the theatre in the early afternoon with my wife, leaving our 6 months old with my mum. First time leaving him with someone else. Feeling a bit nervous.

  16. Heading out to town to pick up a few things, then a garden centre to buy some more annual flowers.

  17. Going to RSPB Minsmere with my wife’s family and our kids for my sister-in-law’s birthday (she’s a nature nut). Then tomorrow my youngest has a playdate with her friend.

  18. Extremely nasty flare up of joint issues has materialised in my neck, upper back and shoulders. Meaning I’m basically useless from the waist up. Hands will work for small things but arms have minimal strength available (because any pressure on the shoulder joints takes this from throbbing pain to searing agony) so I’ll be informing the other adults in the house that one of them will need to cook today.

I promised to take the kids out for an ice cream after lunch, so I’ll see if lots of painkillers will render me safe to do so, otherwise I may have to convince the husband to drive us.

We have d and D tonight which I am looking forward to but everything is affected by the haze of pain currently. I’ve taken some prescription painkillers but theyve barely taken the edge off so I’m going to go and hunt round to find anything over the counter that I can safely add to the mix…

  19. Trying to see how long I can get away with staying in bed without my 10 year old needing or wanting something. Still recovering from my brother’s wedding on Thursday.

  20. Hoping it’ll pour down with rain this afternoon so I’ve an excuse to stay in and watch the giro. Weather forecast is promising in that respect.

  21. Hoping for a chilled out day. Forecast is nice. Might take the kids down to Sandsend or Runswick for a couple of hours.

We’ve got a 12 week old pup so can’t go far or do too much

  22. I have three birthdays and Father’s Day coming up, all within a span of about 2 weeks. I wasn’t able to do some shopping yesterday so I need to get on ordering at least a couple of things online today

  23. Having as much of a lay in as possible, before heading off for a bbq, and possibly a beer or two.

Glass clink to anyone else planning barby and beer 🍻

  24. Sun is out so going to go for a wander and find some geocaches.

  25. going to mk comic con today then watching the series finale of doctor who at the cinema! going to be a nice distraction today!

  26. Cinema to watch MI, then to the retail part to get some picture frames, then taking dog to see partner’s parents. At some point need to think about what to have for dinner. Also need to plant a rose we’ve bought and have a potter in the garden.

  27. It’s my town’s Pride event today in the park and I’m babysitting my 10 month old niece, so we’re going to toddle over and see what’s happening. She’ll have a little picnic and I’ll push her on the swings and she’ll get her first chance to be an ally which is fun.

  28. Just been vomited on by my 3 year old, so probably not much 🙃

  29. Ripping out a bush and generally sorting out our small front garden. I’m exhausted already.

But first, we need to pop out and buy some gravel and new plants. Methinks we should stop off for breakfast and a nice coffee as well!

  30. Off to work for 10, don’t mind the late starts as it gives me time to do a wash, and then sit down with a cup of tea before leaving.

Meant to be good weather today but it’s rather grey so deciding if I need to wear my waterproofs.

  31. Taking my 18 month old daughter to her first Tigers game. I don’t expect her to stay for the whole game but hopefully she will enjoy it

  32. Working.

But its with my favourite colleague so not fussed one bit.

    😁

  33. My pup was a model in a charity photoshoot yesterday (making a photography book to raise money for greyhounds and galgos). The photographer sent me this [cute little candid](https://ibb.co/JRF1V6NV) she took of my giving him some head scratches 🥺 Can’t wait to see the rest of the photos.

Today going to try and make the most of the good weather with a picnic in the park before the Champions League final later.

  34. Ah the joys of a 7.5 overtime shift. It should have been just 5.5 but folk are off so there you go.

After this I’m meeting my partner for lunch somewhere, and getting a few groceries/dog stuff.

Partner is out for dinner this evening, so I may have hotdogs and onion rings, something I don’t have very often.

  35. Made the mistake of checking my emails earlier than usual this morning. I definitely didn’t win the Euromillions, so that glimmer of hope has been extinguished.

I need to get my spine to cooperate for just long enough to get to chemist and back, then I am going to dig out all the bits and pieces I have accumulated over the years that were supposed to help me with pain. I will put them in the middle of the living room floor in a vague attempt to motivate myself to try something. If nothing else, I can take a picture to show the GP next week, as I am still fuming about the leaflet I was texted on Tuesday, the gist of which was “have you tried not being in pain?”

  36. I’m in my early 30’s and decided I’m getting old, so I’ve booked myself an eye test 😐

  37. Just had an early haircut, my usual guy looked absolutely knackered, bless him. Ah to be young and carefree.

We were planning to go to the stickman trail in the lakes (my daughter loves it) but the weather’s not nicer til later which doesn’t justify a full day out. Plus we need to break the “omg we just got paid, let’s live like royalty again” habit.
