A student who collected information about the location of military facilities in Kyiv was sentenced to 15 years in prison for high treason

For supporting a public accusation, prosecutors from the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office found a 21-year-old student of a metropolitan college guilty of high treason (Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). He was sentenced to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.

Prosecutors proved in court that during July and August 2024, the accused received instructions via Telegram from representatives of the Russian Federation for money to collect and transmit the coordinates of the location of military facilities, as well as the presence of servicemen there.

❗️In particular, customers were interested in information about the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the Headquarters of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the 3rd Airborne Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and other military units located in the capital.

The accused took photos and videos of these objects, observed whether there were people and equipment there. After that, he transmitted information to the curator with the exact coordinates of the objects and the details he noticed.

The man is in custody.

The pre-trial investigation was conducted by investigators of the Main Directorate of the SBU in Kyiv and Kyiv region.

  1. Being an adult, 15 years seems very light for committing treason

  2. How does this keep on happening? I’m so confused, are ordinary Ukrainians wanting to be kill their own people in the name of Putin?

  3. Wow.  Your city is bombed almost every night.

    Mass casualties.  Kids being killed.

Wtf dude?  For a couple of dollars?

Can you be any more selfish?

15 years is pittance to what he deserves.

  4. Should have been a life sentence. Treasonous person.

  5. He won’t live to see 22. Especially not after the other inmates find out why he’s locked up.

  6. Why waste time and money on sending him to prison? He has clearly shown his allegiance.

  7. Another one has been arrested. Do I suspect that the SBU has new software to find the traitors?

  8. Should be lifetime sentence. You’d be hanged back in the day.

  9. The concept of treason is so idiotic… He didn’t choose to be born there. He doesn’t necessarily love it and agree with it. If one hasn’t sworn service to a country, it shouldn’t be treated as treason.

  10. Ukraine has some pretty light sentences for these types of crimes I noticed.

  11. Shocking! After serving their sentences, these traitors must not be allowing back in Ukrainian society, either deported to ruZZia or exchanged.

  12. SBU is not face-blurred, but the bastard is

    Facepalm… -.-

  13. Imagine he’s locked up in a cell with someone whose family were injured or killed on the front lines. On info supplied by little shitstains like him.

He’ll be a fucking human punching bag.

  14. I would have thought being a traitor would get you more than 15 years.

  15. Treason of this magnitude, intended to result in immediate deaths and weakening the military during a literal invasion of their territory, should be a death sentence

  16. Ukraine is doing well cracking down on this scum I’m seeing quite a few post lately. Slava ukraine

  17. Let the family members of children killed by Russian bombs beat and whip this idiot kid until all his skin gets ripped off and he bleeds out and finally stops screaming.

    Real justice.
