Following the court’s ruling, the attorney general told the prime minister to refrain from naming a new head of Shinbet. But Netanyahu did it anyway. According to one Israeli media, Zini, a former army general, previously told IDF colleagues that he was against hostage deals and that the war against Hamas was eternal. The report has sparked outrage among families of captives held in Gaza.
