  1. The World Bank has announced a landmark investment of $40 billion in Pakistan between 2026 and 2035 under its newly introduced 10-year Country Partnership Framework (CPF), marking a significant shift from its previous five-year strategy model.

According to official documents, Pakistan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs has initiated the development of a comprehensive implementation framework in line with the government’s priorities and the National Economic Transformation Plan, Uraan Pakistan.

In the first phase of this long-term partnership, Pakistan is set to receive $20 billion in sovereign loans through the World Bank’s International Development Association (IDA) and International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD). The funding will be directed toward vital sectors such as education, healthcare, clean energy, climate change mitigation, and air quality enhancement.

The framework also aims to accelerate private sector participation and sustainable development across the country. The International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, will facilitate an additional $20 billion in private investment to stimulate economic growth and job creation.

  2. “Loans” It won’t get payed back to the lenders.

  3. Get nukes guys. And then maybe dont be like the North Koreans. Maybe take a couple of photos of some dead eyed fanatic near a nuke silo and bait the NSA in the darkweb..

Voila. Watch the world bank loans flow.

  4. IMF, now World Bank?!! When will we stop funding a terrorist, autocratic military state. I know, I know – nuclear weapons falling in the hands to the terrorists is something we don’t want, but this is so infuriating.

  5. More money for pakistani generals and politicians to buy properties in UK with

  6. World Bank is basically United States. Thus, Modi’s “friend” Trump, whom Modi even canvassed for in the previous election (which Trump still lost to Biden), seems to be firmly aligning himself with Pakistan.

  7. Pakistan has obtained a position of leverage on financial matters due to its nukes or is this some elaborate plot of USA to keep Pakistan in check?

  8. Obviously USA want good relationship to have an eye on Iran

  9. WB can play a role in a country’s economic development but it has to be within a context of national policy driven by the state. First and foremost the state needs to articular its development goals and where it might be beneficial for WB to participate.
