The Duchess of Sussex has decided to “just pause” restocking her As Ever brand, saying she wants to wait until it is “completely stable and we have everything we need” after previously selling out of products in less than an hour.
Meghan told of the difficulties of building her firm and “how many tears” she has shed behind the scenes, on a bonus episode of her podcast featuring Beyonce’s mother Tina Knowles.

I have said this before, but Meghan really needs to go get an MBA. She has no idea how to run a business. It’s so much more than just posting on social media. There is no shame in this, they are all teachable skills, but she doesn’t know any of them. She could also hire knowledgable people to run it, but I don’t see that happening if it hasn’t happened already.
no sarcasm here-I’m honestly confused by Meghan’s business strategy. I know she’s watched people with lower profiles than she has (Jessica Alba for example) successfully launch billion dollar businesses. She has Netflix committing to her so she has the financial backing.
So why doesn’t she call Selena Gomez’s business advisor (for example) and ask if they can lunch

Why launch something that wasn’t quite ready and unable to re stock when it did have some success. That time might have been better spent studying business management. Maybe her product is really just herself talking about her feelings.
Launching a business itself is a huge risk. Taking several months to research and get everything “stable” when there is so much competition in the market means her business is gonna be left behind by the time she comes back with a researched plan on what she wants As Ever to be. It seems like even now she doesn’t know how to continue. All this planning and research should’ve been done before As Ever officially launched so her business can thrive for longer than a one-day sale.
Just keep making the jam and the crepe mix, surely there would be enough demand for dried flowers and tea leaves? Keep selling products *and* doing research for future products at the same time.
Something is not ringing true here. All this “sold out within 45 minutes” mediaplay shouldn’t make her want to stop production at all. It should galvanize her to keep restocking so she can grow her brand. Her email to those who bought the honey but the honey was “out of stock” means those people have paid for something that may not arrive for a long time.

Meghan might be trying to do all of this alone. I don’t think with her level of popularity it will be possible. She should hire people to do the logistics and implement her idea and be the face of this brand. But then she should also not let her old ways with Staffs create problems
Edit Spelling
It’s a hobby business. Shedding tears over a hobby is stupid
Seems like she should have done this before she launched. With all the resources she has access to, this is strange. Silly move but who am i
I guess the launch was just a test to see if people would buy.
I can’t blame her. Retail is kinda in chaos right now because of the tariff issue. Lots of uncertainty. There’s brands that have cancelled orders because material costs have just increased and it can be hard to pass those on to consumers. Very few would want to buy overpriced celebrity jam or she’ll just burn through her cash paying employees and suppliers. Plus Netflix is an investor in their company. They usually have monthly check-ins and give advice, on top of probably other advisors they have on board. She did not arrive at this decision by herself. And it’s very sound advice.
Meghan, I think you might not be cut out to be a businesswoman. And that’s ok. Tbh her passion really seems to be more on the Instagram side of things. Just let As Ever go and focus on influencing because tbh it seems like that’s what you’d rather be doing anyway.
Was more popular than expected and she didn’t have enough people and product to meet demand. It happens.
This was a way to sell merch associated with her Netflix show and they ran a small number to see how it was received. Netflix is ending their contract, so all the money and production associated are ending.
Her show was copy paste of similar shows and the products weren’t different from what already exists in the market. None of them created buzz or viewership to justify them. Netflix has cancelled good shows for less.
Anything else she says now is just PR.
Businesses fail all the time even by some of the most well known and wealthy entrepreneurs, people dust off their feet and try again. It’s no big deal. In this case it doesn’t even sound like a failure but more so a bigger success than expected during initial launch. She’ll be back better and stronger in 2026.
Lot of nonsense as usual why start up just to stop

I’m so confused: didn’t her team correct that it was going to be restocked? In fact there was a pinned comment on the previous post.
So now it is not getting restocked?
I thought she said that just because they sold out doesn’t mean that they’re done
Why are these people half in? Michelle Obama now has a podcast and is slinging some health drink. I get they have young kids, but if you want to influence, it’s about engagement and getting out there. I generally don’t get who is advising them and how they keep losing momentum by start/stopping all the time with brand/product launches that are half baked. It’s astonishing how bad they are at this.
Clearly, there’s interest since she sold out so quickly, so I can’t imagine the level of incompetence and other shenanigans behind the scenes. This could be the one thing that works with her because the other stuff hasn’t panned out long term.
This seems like a terrible way to run a business?
Also girl, you’re unlikely to run a business together with your daughter the way Tina Knowles did. Tina was only 45 when Beyoncé (18 at the time) hit big with Destiny’s Child. Meghan is going to be like 60 when her daughter turns 18.
