Putin Is a Gambler, not a Grand Master

  1. Putin portrays himself as a geopolitical grand master, shrewdly moving pieces on the world’s chess board. Yet the Russian leader is not executing a master plan but improvising in pursuit of a single goal: staying in power. His approach hinges on exploiting Western disunity, capitalizing on moments of retreat, and relying on disruption rather than durable influence.

What is often hailed as Putin’s mastery of realpolitik is, in fact, short-term gamesmanship rooted in KGB tactics aimed at suppressing democratic agency and manipulating public opinion.

  2. Putin is 100,000 times smarter than the US media has led you to believe. He single handedly took over and erased the oligarchs from power, almost by himself. From KGB agent to immortal leader of Russia lol. And for 4 years he stayed put like a dog on a leash for Trump. In political landscape today you have to follow three things:

    – money
    – weapons
    – trade/inclusion

There is always falsified / misinformation in one area to distract from what’s actually happening in another area.

  3. He doesn’t have to be good, just better than the Europeans.

  4. This is what I’ve been saying for a while now. He’s an operator, not a handler. He wins battles, not wars.
