It also shows them landing on two A-50 of which one was damaged and seen on [satellite imagery](https://www.reddit.com/r/UkraineWarVideoReport/comments/1l2g1jz/there_is_a_possibility_that_at_least_one_a50_was/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button).
I wonder if the drones communicated with some kind of control unit in the containers. I mean, there had to be some connection “to the outside” for us to receive footage. Was it truly autonomous drones, or were they remotely controlled?
Well I guess we can see the A50’s getting hit.
What are the black tire looking things scattered across the tops of all the planes?
Edit: Solved. They are literally tires…
They clearly knew where to attack with them but it seems there was a huge lag or whatever controlled them had a bit of an issue with aiming.
Whats the count just based on this video?
I counted about 35 drones – al targeting different aircrafts. Except one where we can see an earlier drone impact but no fire.
What’s the tires on top of some planes for?
Modern art
A lot of planes that were hit didn’t burn. Seems like Russian Air Force had a serviceability issue even before Operation Spiderweb.
That’s a lot of bombers hit it looks like. Not familiar with Soviet designs, but looks like some transports were all hit (there appeared to be some c130 equivalent looking one at 1:23)
Hell of day for those air bases, wonder how soon we will get the final count and type.
Damn this really shows how much of a swarm it was, enough drones for multiple hits on each target. They didn’t leave anything to chance
I still can’t get over the tires. Like the cope cages were bad, but these aren’t even pretending to be useful. Think of all the man hours wasted moving those tires on and off the plane that could have been better spent building a hanger.
Wow… were the tyres supposed to be like some sort of make-shift armor to protect the planes or sumthin?
Some of these planes look like they haven’t flown in years.
Surgical and precise.
You can tell they were specifically going for engines and essential systems on strategic aircraft. Basically the stuff that Russia still has from the Soviet era that they can’t rebuild. Because either the tooling machines, the engineers or parts are just not available anymore..
Russia’s biggest mistake was not coming out with a modernized military based off designs they could easily rebuild, repair and replace. Being reliant on limited tech they no longer have the ability to produce was the dumbest thing they’ve done on a long list involving Ukraine.
They were doomed from the start.
*looks at China’s current military*
And it looks like somebody learned from that mistake….
That looks like a lot more than 13 planes destroyed.
Loved every minute.
Flashbacks to trying to dock in the old Elite game on my C64 🙂
Damn those A-50s look extremely rough.
So apparently the got more than one A-50?
Even if some planes weren’t burning, you can clearly see holes where the drone hit. So structural damage might be possible and the plane might be out of commission for a while or even for ever.
Also 2x A-50 hit, that’s insane.
Seems like the drones with the descending straight down attackmode worked best/ was most precise? Wonder if they used different models of drones.
[Look at this Tu-95](https://i.imgur.com/JcwMBtJ.png)
It’s already been hit once, so the Ukrainian numbers about 41 hit is likely accurate. We’re probably looking at 15+ destroyed with the rest damaged and no longer airworthy.
This is the most stunning achievement by a conventional military so far this century.
I assume these things go boom when the video cuts out? Awesome. In both the literal and figurative sense of the word.
Absolutely insane stuff. The drone operatives involved with this are actual real life 007 agents.
You can definitely see a difference in drone pilot skill. There were pilots that were flying these at high speed at approximately the right location, and there were pilots that set these down on exactly the spot they wanted to blow, and then detonated.
Does anyone else lean their body in when it looks like the drone is going to miss?
The tyres definitely helped them burn
Glorious
So interesting how each aircraft type is targeted in a specific way. Big wide bombers it’s the top of the wing near the fuselage. The long pointy bombers it’s the top of the fuselage behind the cockpit. The radar planes, oddly it’s the top of the radar (not sure this is best, but they will know better than me)
Suuuuper interesting footage.
Thanks god they have the tires. They burn well.
Does anyone have a total tally on the number of planes struck in the video? I was way too enthralled to think of counting and I’m at work which I really should get back to.
Also, the destruction at 0:31 might be the single most cathartic clip I’ve seen come out from this war. It’s really tough to pick this or the Toropets strike win that award. Toropets was visually more astounding, but the context of this operation puts it over the top for me.
I usually feel no pleasure watching footage from this war, because they involve, almost always, men losing their lives. I don’t care if they’re Russian; they’re still human, so I can’t get too hyped about watching a tank turret being blown off or whatever.
But this… this shit warms my heart. Nobody’s dying in these videos; it’s just Russia’s strategic airfleet being decimated (worse than decimated, technically). For once, I don’t mind the cool music, and I’m watching this with a big smile on my face. I could watch these planes being blown up all fuckin day.
Remember that massive sea of tires in the Kuwaiti desert that just disappeared a couple of years ago? I think I know who bought them
Even a US general would fall out of a window if this happened to the US. Absolutely wonderful Ukraine.
Now thats a lot of damage
Most epic footage ever!
Something you see in the video is cruise missles loaded onto the bombers, which explains why they burned and why some were obliterated in satellite photos because they were loaded with ordnance and fuel. This does corroborate what some Ukrainian and Russian millbloggers were saying that Russia was preparing a cruise strike either before or after the second round of talks.
Here’s a cut piece from the video showing cruise missles on a bomber

Beautiful footage!
Can you imagine the smiles on these drone operators faces???
Just cheeeeesin
The music is banger. What it is?
a 0:51 you can already see damage to the plane bit it didnt catch on fire, so some pro RU going with videos from far away saying they didnt hit this or that cause it didnt catch fire is bulllshitt.
That’s an insane amount of damage for what those drones cost.
What are the tyres used for?
