Ukraine’s security service, @ServiceSsu , has released more info about Operation Spiderweb and a 4-min video showing new footage, including drones landing atop A-50 early warning and control aircraft.

That was awesome.
This footage is literally 💥
The ones that didn’t catch fire at least have giant holes them
Crazy! What’s that on the disc of the radar planes? Is it rust? Wtf.
Interesting to see how some of the drones land smoot as butter, whilst others seem to apply a flight pattern we usually see on the battlefield against targets at full speed.
I’m sure the intel was valuable but it was making me nervous how long they were loitering for. Strike while you have the opportunity!
I saw 2 A-50s. The clips were one after another.
Watch this and you can start to see how they could have hit 41 targets.
Holy fuck!!! It’s true!!! 2 A-50s!!!!
Ohmygod.
A bunch of the planes at the beginning looked like parts mules.
Why do they put tires all over their planes?
Someone sitting in the planning room probably made a joke about “let’s just get a drone swarm into an airbase”. They all laughed. Then looked at each other like “okay how?”. Then a voice from the corner said “what about the four main airbases simultaneously?”. Thus, the challenge began.
Great work, guys. Slava Ukraini
this is the fucking best video on the internet right now!could watch this for hours
Anyone get a count of the number of planes struck? I’m guessing some of them didn’t ignite, but this was a major dump of footage that wasn’t available when reports first came out.
Generational footage. Legit.
This should be the top video on Pornhub: Ukrainian drones fuck entire Russian airforce
Two things that jump out at me. First, that the service ceiling at the one base is very low and the cloud cover very thick. Conventional aviation would be hard pressed to have even made an attempt on that base, while drones had no issues. I think they could have done this mission if the clouds had been walking (20 meters would have been enough). Second it is day time, planes are already burning and not a single vehicle is seen racing to the scene. There is no reason to die for this Tsar.
34-35 distinct landings. That 41 mark might actually have happened
The precision of the warhead placement is incredible. They’re consistently landing within a meter of where they can do the most damage. If this attack had been mounted with conventional missiles they would have needed many times more.
Also, they’re coming in at low speeds and treetop level. The radars would have filtered them out as just leaves waving in the breeze. This is a devastating shift in anti-air combat. All air forces use air bases that don’t move and can be seen from orbit.
Sort of baffling they are attacking the A50’s radome rather than the wings. Sure, the radar is probably expensive to repair… but there are fuel tanks in those wings. An attack on the correct part of the wing will burn the whole plane down, whereas an attack on the radar will result in damage to one part of the radar system.
The biggest shock in all this footage is the beautiful blue skies in Russia. I’ve never seen this before. It always seems perpetually overcast. Like Pittsburgh. 😂
Good thing they covered them in those tires.
