   A pupil who carried out a savage attack on a teacher and left her lying lifeless in a pool of blood has been allowed to walk free from court.

   Secondary school teacher Carol Shaw’s life was endangered and she was left scarred for life after being picked up and dumped head-first on a concrete floor.

4. So an 18 year old (an adult) almost killed someone without any remorse, because she told him to get ready for PE.
   This guy had to get dressed separately from other students because he kept attacking other people.
   And to cap it off, they recommend 18 months, but that gets reduced for a guilty plea, and since the reduced sentence was now under 12 months, first sentencing can be avoided.

   I feel sorry for his next victim. The one that has to be hurt before the law can actually help.

   I don’t know what happened to the law in this country. It’s crazy.

14. What do you do with someone like this? You can’t lock them up indefinitely, but they’re clearly a public threat. You just keep going around in circles until the next victim comes along.

    There are so many violent and troubled young people, it’s crazy how broken society in the UK is becoming.

18. This case shows the staggering failures of putting unsuitable pupils in mainstream schools. As well as the anger issues, his IQ is in the 47 to 59 range. He should have been in a suitable environment for his own sake and the sake of every pupil and teacher at the school.

21. There are children in other parts of the world who would fight tooth and nail for a chance at education. Young male children in this country need to understand how important education and their teachers are.

22. The legal system in this country is unhinged if an 18 year old can body slam a person and almost kill them (yes that could have been a possibility) and walk away relatively scott free…. Absolutely nuts. Prisons are full and people are able to get away with attempted murder. Might as well become a politician because at least then when you commit a crime you’ll get ££££ and honourary titles.

25. Sadly, there will be another victim, or more than one. Young dim wit here has not experienced consequences for his actions and “anger management” classes are not going to cut it. I can’t imagine what the teacher is feeling seeing him walk free.

33. So he walks free after doing this. But imagine the consequences had the teacher been someone his own size who stood up for themselves and planted one on his chin. They’d be in court, teaching career gone, prospects for a decent future career elsewhere seriously damaged. No wonder the UK is struggling to retain teachers, the students do what they like with no real consequences.

34. My sister used to teach and some of the horror stories she told me were beyond belief.Teachers in general need much more help,support and protection from violence,abuse and intimidation.
