  1. First is understandable, second one makes no sense

Edit: did not realize Octaves was a buffet, second one is justifiable

  2. Surely if I’ve ordered it, it’s on my bill anyway? Why am I then paying a fee for not eating something I’m being charged for anyway because I ordered it? Also if that’s the policy, can I bring my own container?

  3. Is this an all you can eat restaurant? From memory they’ve always had policies like this. Although charging much less.

  4. I’ve only seen this at ‘all you can eat’ type situations. They don’t want you to over order just to take some home ..or waste food.

**edit: They do have an all you can eat option so this makes sense 🫡

  5. What if the food sucks ? On top of service charges and mandatory tips, just seems like another means of milking the customer.

  6. How dare you want to take food home that you paid for, give me £10. Seems a bit dickheaded.

  7. If I’d paid for the dishes and it was a la carte as the menu seems to indicate and they try and charge me for “wastage”, I’d tell them to piss pff.

  8. Is it an all you can eat buffet? If so it makes sense, they always have these kinds of policies to stop food waste and to stop people just taking huge amounts of food home for later.

  9. Sounds like how you would talk to a primary school student

  10. Absolute pisstake. What if a dish is shit? Do I have to eat it?

  11. Is that paying for food twice then? Or is it an all you can eat place where people might take a whole second dinner home with them?

  12. Id just ignore it I’m not legally obliged to pay that

  13. They went viral and last I checked were booked 2 months in advance – they’re naturally taking advantage

  14. I feel like this is the sort of notice they only gets posted once people discovered a good thing and started taking the piss with it

I’d be willing to bet this is the product of just a handful of bellends

  15. offer them half the bill, youre allowed to not pay the full price

  16. Applaud the effort to discourage food waste but I think they’re a bit high and mighty about it. I mean you can order a dish which might have a lot of food but it’s been so badly prepared you can only eat a few mouthfuls. Then what?
