Israeli arms sales hit a record $14.8 billion in 2024, the fourth year in a row of growth.
Despite international pressure over the Gaza war, exports surged, with air defense systems making up nearly half of the sales.
Europe led purchases, likely due to the war in Ukraine. The Defense Ministry credits demand to Israel’s battlefield performance and combat proven technology.
Given how spectacularly Israeli air defense has been performing — under over a year of rocket barrages, drones, and missile attacks — it should come as no surprise that Ukraine and others want what they see working. Not to mention the new “Iron Beam” successes.
I don’t think people realize just how insanely efficient these defense systems are.
Since October 7th, around 30,000 rockets and drones have been fired at Israel from all fronts, yet only about 40 civilians have died as a direct result (while the majority of those casualties died on October 7th itself, when the entire system was overwhelmed).
If the Iron Beam had been fully operational, the numbers would likely be way lower.
When your life depends on gear that works, you buy the best you can afford, if you’re wise.
If you don’t care much, then you buy Russian or North Korean.
I mean well yeah these weapons have demonstrated that they work in real life situations, you can’t beat that kind of marketing
India is a big buyer of Israeli arms (Barak SAM, Lightening Pods, Phalcon Radar and now Drones)
Purple haired tears incoming
