Prince Harry opened up about “physical and mental challenges” in an emotional letter he sent to a group of veterans.
The Duke of Sussex reached out to Veterans Minister Al Carns and former Special Forces soldiers Kevin Godlington, Garth Miller and Anthony “Staz” Stazicker after they broke a record by traveling from London to Mount Everest and back in just seven days. They took on the challenge in support of military charities.
The letter was shared by Kevin on Instagram. In it, Harry began, “Wow – what a remarkable accomplishment.” He then said the accomplishment is “nothing short of extraordinary.”

Harry added, “Reaching the top of the world is an immense physical and mental challenge in its own right, but doing it with purpose to honour and support military families elevates this feat to another level entirely. I take my hat off to you all.”
He continued, “You’ve pushed the boundaries of human endurance while shining a light on a cause that is deeply important to me, the well-being of our service families, especially children and young people who’ve experienced loss. For that, I am hugely grateful.”
The Duke of Sussex then thanked the team for their “strength, advocacy and willingness to make the climb on behalf of others.” He concluded, “You’ve not only conquered Everest, you’ve brought attention to the sacrifices of our Armed Forces in a way few others could.”
Before signing off, he added, “Well done lads. All the best. Harry,” and ended the letter with his name and title, “Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex.”
The letter was shared with fans just a day before Harry’s brother Prince William seemed to make a sly dig about their royal family feud. The pair have been estranged for years, with Harry slamming his brother in his memoir, Spare.
During a visit to the Army Air Corps on Wednesday, William joked some families don’t always want to see each other “that much.” His comments come after Harry has asked for a royal renuion.
The Prince of Wales asked soldiers at the base about how often they saw their loved ones. He then teased, “Some of them might not want to see you that much. It’s a mixed bag.”
