    I’m not suggesting there aren’t downsides. But also people shouting “AI bad!” I don’t believe quite know what it is… it’s a stupid name granted that is being used to encompass a wide of tech, some of which is massively useful.

    Either way it’s coming. This ad shouldn’t offend you.

    There is a generation that called my generation idiots because we can’t read paper maps with the same proficiency they can. Don’t be like that.

    A new technology taking jobs from one sector but creating them somewhere else isn’t a new concept.

    Everyone downvoting my comment is actively using a platform that supports and is pro AI, nice protest guys. If you’re on Reddit you’re enabling this thing you apparently hate so much.

  8. It’s a bit tone deaf and does make me think less of the company offering it, but “should not be tolerated”?
    I’m not a particularly big fan of AI either, but I have to say theres such an annoying anti-AI circlejerk that rivals the pro-AI circlejerk happening over on subs like r/singularity for how obnoxious it is.

  10. I think the ad is a bit shit, but getting upset over it… it’s just the next revolution and has gone on throughout history.

    It’s literally next to an ad for a bus which put about 40 horse and cart drivers out of business, as well as the cart manufacturers, the horse breeders, the horse food companies etc. You wouldn’t think twice about getting on a bus.

  13. My workplace and my partners both had redundancies announced yesterday. My partner is now unemployed.
    AI and wider tech ‘helping productivity’ is definitely a reason being given for this.

  15. There are so many AI adverts on the tube at the moment. It’s very dystopian for me and honestly causing me to have an existential crisis! I work in a creative industry and my job looks like it will be taken by AI very soon. Not fun to be reminded of my impending doom on my commute whilst I’m still employed 😂

  25. Ai should only be used if all the people making money share that money about so all the people it puts out of work can still live. Its just leading to people who have more money but more people who don’t. Ai is supposed to benefit us all but that isn’t looking like the case.

  30. You can’t legislate transformative technologies like AI out of existence.

    It’s already reshaping the world and in just a few years it will fundamentally change how we live and work.

    The task ahead isn’t to resist or retreat but to adapt and make the most of it. Pretending we can rewind the clock is not only futile — it puts us at a disadvantage.
