ESA project astronaut Sławosz Uznański-Wiśniewski from Poland will travel to the International Space Station on Axiom Mission 4 (Ax-4). He will spend up to 14 days in orbit conducting microgravity research and technology demonstrations.

A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket will launch Ax-4 crew on a SpaceX Dragon spacecraft from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida, USA. Europe is teaming up with a commercial space company to show how fast-track, short-duration missions with flexible access to microgravity can generate good science, outreach and education for a better life on Earth.

The Ignis mission, sponsored by the Polish government and supported by ESA, marks Poland's first involvement in a scientific and technological human spaceflight mission to the Space Station. Highlighting the country’s growing role in space
exploration, Ignis demonstrates how short-duration missions with flexible access to microgravity can drive science, foster innovation and inspire younger generations.

  1. Even if you don’t care about rockets, tuning in is probably worth it to hear Americans pronounce Sławosz Uznański-Wiśniewski.

  2. Pretty cool. Might tune in even though I’m not following the field

  3. Finally. We are producing impressive space tech ourselves. We should also have more people up there doing research (observing goo), too.

We can into space and we’re actually pretty good at it. We should make it being known a little bit more.

  4. Out of curiosity, why isn’t this fact being hyped in the Polish media?

  5. Are you guys proud of this? I hope so. Here in Hungary people are laughing at this because we cannot even hold our shit together in this country and we want to send this guy (Tibor) into space LOL Isnt this Polish guy the husband of a PO parliamentary member called Aleksandra?
