  1. ***The Telegraph reports:***

White British pupils are now the minority in one in four schools in England, official data reveal.

Analysis of school census data, collected from more than 21,500 primaries and secondaries in January, shows that in a quarter of them, the majority of the cohort is recorded as ethnic minority or white non-British.

In 72 schools, no white British pupils are recorded, and in 454, they make up less than 2 per cent of the student body.

The demographic shift is apparent in many of the country’s big cities such as [London](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2022/11/29/uk-census-results-2021-white-ethnicity-london-birmingham/), [Birmingham](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2024/08/26/no-whites-graffiti-investigated-police-birmingham-alum-rock/), Manchester, Bradford and Leicester.

  2. That’s one out of four schools too many.
This is literally the last chance to act before the numbers are such that will allow for tactical voting.

  3. So eh, only counts if both parents are white British.

    Who fecking cares.

I grew up as one of the few ‘white british kids’ and my daughters are the same now, didn’t give a shit then, dont give a shit now.

  4. So a majority in 3/4 schools….

I am also interested if those 1/4 schools are schools just in more diverse areas? Cause something I have realised about the UK is that you have very diverse areas with white British people as a minority ( mainly major cities) , but then you drive a bit out and it’s the total opposite, where you see 1 or 2 non white British people.

  5. The article does add the context that it’s London and other major cities where this is the case. Our immigrant populations have always focused around the major cities, so I’m not sure how this is particularly surprising given the increase in immigration and the falling birth rate.

Even ignoring the context though, you can also read the headline as “75% of schools in Britain have a white British majority of students”.

What point is the article trying to make?

  6. Are the people who condemn BLM as being racist going to explain how this headline isn’t?

  7. The Torygraph once again trying to get the Toby carvery lads foaming at the mouth over nothing……

  8. I’d be more interested to know how many of them are integrated into society. You don’t have to be white to be some random British person. It the ones who are living a different culture within ours that concern me.

  9. “White British children are still the large majority in 3 out of 4 schools.”

    Fixed it.

  10. Some places I go for work , as a white English man I actually feel like a foreigner

  11. is that the legal definition of white british born in britain and white or the misinformation one they are using that if you have a parent not born in britain they don’t count you. like farage’s kids

  12. In other news 75% of schools are majority white British. 73% of the population is white British. This is almost perfectly proportional

  13. If it wasn’t for my son, who we adopted in China, his primary school would be 100% white.

It’s not entirely clear what difference this would make to the school.

  14. Another day, another great replacement theorist writing clickbait

    😒

  15. We really need a very big push for integration. I’ve never cared about skin colour, but what I don’t want is parallel communities developing everywhere. Immigration isn’t a bad thing in and of itself, but it happened way too fast over the past decade.

Even if immigration numbers plummet tomorrow, what’s already done is done. If we don’t make integration a top priority then we build up problems for the future.

  16. Amazing how quickly it went from “its not happening” to “yes it’s undeniable now but it’s fine that it’s happening”

You’d have been called crazy for predicting this in the 2010s
