The SBU has released a new video from the special operation “Spider Web”: the footage shows the path of one of the FPV drones from taking off from the roof of a “modular building” to hitting an aircraft. [Published 07.06.2025]

Curious if the spotty fires seen route were caused by disabled drones.
It was AI controlled or someone remote controlled it?
Feels like AI.
Easy to find the airport with that smoke!
Clearly, no aircraft were destroyed in this operation. A couple may have been damaged and will be back in service any day now!
Eeny, meany, miney…..mo!!
Any idea what the percentage countdown was, in lower left?
Drone seems overwhelmed when reached airport “omg so many juicy targets! Which one do I go for??”
Seeing all the parking bays on fire
Even only 10 destroyed seems low balling
Seems to be capped to 20m/s (72kmh)
Looks like that plane is missing part of the left rear wing
The tyres placed on top of aircraft is still wild to me.
Remember that Trump said that Putin was justified in his retaliation for this!
A few clearly never made it very far but plenty still did! Still plenty of bombers there so here’s hoping they are already working on the next special operation.
I’m curious about the fact that no ground crew / personnel can be seen anywhere? I would have thought you’d see at least some of them running around in chaos and or trying to man the extinguishers / fire fighting equipment?
What did Ru and Ukr do with all the trees? I’m always shocked to see these huge open fields.
WELP, looks like the cold war is OVER, boys!!!!!!!
PSSSSSSHHHHT! (Cracks beer)
Each day this war looks more like prequel to movie Screamers.
Good. Burn cotton burn.
Putler only understands force. Slava Ukraini!!! 💪
My mind is playing the theme of “Jaws” as I watch this.
Unbelievable, spectacular, a true mark of Ukraines power, cunning and genius 👏 🫡
Fucking bravo Ukraine.
This is one of the most impressive attacks in military history. Maximum destruction with minimal resources using planning, wit, deception and professionalism.
And as far as i know, no casualties on either side.
So unbelievably impressive. I don’t think it has sunk in with many what a paradigm shifting game changer this moment was for the future of warfare.
I would love for someone familiar with areupulot to explain what some of these things mean, like the switch from :auto’ to ‘position hold’. Or like how in one of the other videos it was flashing ‘failsafe’.
Hobbiest drone software has been capable of flying to a waypoint “autonomously” for 15-20 years now. The computer (really a microcontroller) can be as cheap as $5. Sensors for GPS, compass, gyro/inertial navigation etc. are getting well below $100 in large quantities. You’ve been able to download all the software needed for this for a decade.
From the description of the attacks, they were fiber optic from drone to the modular structure on the trailer. 4G LTE cellular network to internet. Internet back to the operators.
It looked like the first leg of the drone flight was completely autonomous and pre-planned. The operators were probably making adjustments to waypoints and hold points while the drones flew themselves. It’s relatively easy to set up the operator interface so clicking on an aircraft in the video feed generates a geolocation sent to the drone.
As the drone approaches the target, the operator tilts the camera down, adjusts position, then descends on the target. Contact detonator makes bomber go boom.
Oh, what’s that? Looks like a jet. Maybe we should get closer and establish that it’s a jet.
Wait, where’d the jet go?
