I’m part of DadBodsNI, a community for dads across Northern Ireland who fancy getting out of the house, meeting other dads, and doing something low-key with the kids.
We do free weekly walks in different spots around Greater Belfast and North Down. Forests, beaches, parks, the odd museum if the weather’s rubbish. Some of us bring slings. Some are pushing buggies. Some are chasing toddlers with scooters and raisins. You get the idea.
It’s not a class. There’s no agenda. Just a bunch of dads showing up, getting some fresh air, and having a bit of craic. We’ve got a WhatsApp group, no cliques, no pressure, and we always welcome new faces.
We’ve just become a registered charity which is mad when you think this all started with a couple of us going, “Wouldn’t it be nice if…”
If you’re a dad (or know one) who could do with getting out and about a bit more, have a look:

We're off strawberry picking tomorrow… Sounds wholesome but we all know somebody is going to try to eat their body weight in strawberries. (Hopefully not one of my kids this time)
It’s informal, and the kids love it. Come along sometime.

It’s great to see more dad inclusive events
Anyone can be a father, but it takes a real man to be a dad. With a bod.
Can childless females go? Because I like strawberries.
