  1. I find “displaced” architecture very interesting. It always tickles me when I visit Gibraltar and see the same pedestrian crossing buttons on traffic lights, or council street bins.

    A striking example is Shimla (Himachal Pradesh) in India. A hill station town that the British would escape to in the hot summer.

    Look into the viceregal lodge (Rashtrapati Niwas), gaity theatre, and mock-Tudor style buildings on Mall road.
