Industrial production in Slovakia fell by 0.4% year-on-year in April 2025, reversing an eight-month high of 3.5% in the previous month.
The decline was primarily driven by a sharp slowdown in manufacturing output, which rose just 0.5% compared to a 6% increase in the previous month, particularly in the manufacture of machinery (-13.6%), electrical equipment (-12.9%), and rubber and plastics (-5%).
Additionally, output growth eased in mining and quarrying (17.8% vs 19.6%).
Meanwhile, the decline in output for electricity, gas, and air-conditioning supply moderated (-9.5% vs -15.6%).
On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, industrial activity edged down to 0.5% in April from 0.7% in the preceding month.
