We see 3 little fox cubs playing in the garden every morning. Mum seems to be around too. They make some weird noises at night. The Internet tells me to enjoy them while they're here and they'll hopefully move on after summer…

  1. They were cute in my garden for a day or so but they absolutely destroyed everything, they can be right little shits, cute but I think I’m a fox NIMBY now

  2. Amazing. Can’t ask for more from a garden than seeing the wildlife enjoying it too!

  3. That’s some prime free fox real estate there, nice garden. I’d play around if I was one too!

  4. I would it absolutely love this, if it wasn’t for the fact my dog goes batshit-insane for fox shit. He’d be permanently head to toe in the stuff if I let him, and it smells absolutely ungodly (as I’m sure you’ve learned).

  5. I had fox cubs in my garden a few years back. They will mess up your garden a bit as they get older, but I reckon it’s worth it. Bloody delightful.

  6. Don’t leave any trainers or gardening gloves where they can get at them. They’re as bad as puppies when they’re teething and will chew up anything made of rubber. When we had some in our garden they nicked one of my shoes right off the mat inside the back door, cheeky little buggers.

  7. Ah so lovely! And so lovely of you to give them a safe space to grow and learn, unlike a lot of other miserable buggers.

(Before anyone comments we’ve had fox cubs in our garden three years in a row. They’re a bit stinky, noisy, and messy for a short duration of time, but a source of unbridled joy and comedy for us. None this year so assuming the local vixen either moved on or died, which either way is very sad.)

  8. AKCHUALLY the correct term is fox Kits 🤓

In all seriousness you’re very lucky, enjoy!

  9. I’ve never seen foxes in the daytime. I only see them if I walk my dogs at night.

  10. I hope you enjoy the sounds of blood curdling screams all night long.

  11. We have a mum and a litter (are they called litters for foxes?) of five! They play every everning in our garden.

Adorable, but our garden is wrecked. Plants squished. Holes dug. Grass all torn up. Its a frustrating, but in my head I just tell my self “they have every right as I do to be here”.

  12. Whelp… I guess you also have increased risk of these now too:

Toxocariasis (Roundworm) – Potential breathing problem and vision loss)
    Mange – Skin Irritation
Other Parasites – Fleas, Ticks, Other Worms
    Leptospirosis – Bacterial Disease
    Other bugs etc

    No thanks.

  13. Is this an actual correct usage of the word ‘whelp’?

Must be the first time ever on reddit. Congratulations OP.

  14. Aww they look so happy. Didn’t know their tails were so big at a young age.

  15. I have foxes that come over to my garden every night.

Occasionally I leave out leftovers and occasionally they leave me a gift 💩

  16. The UK is like a magical fairyland-foxes, badgers, hedgehogs all come to your gardens. Im so jealous

  17. A whelp is a puppy. Not sure if this was a very clever title or just spelling that annoying ‘welp’ phrase incorrectly.

  18. If you live near a hunt watch out. Keep em safe.

  19. Get some cats – they don’t take any nonsense on their turf…

  20. This gives me anxiety. Our downstairs neighbour, who was always travelling, had them in his garden and unfortunately most of them didn’t make it.
No idea what happened, if mum abandoned them or something, I found out too late. Even left the garden untouched, not to disturb them.

  21. We had a baby fox family in our garden! If you feed the adult they will be chill and sunbathe when you’re outside and get the gist that you’re safe. Mine liked dog food, then I fell in love and they had pate and frois gras 🤣

  22. They are THE MOST fun thing to watch, we had two litters in the past and watching their mum teach them now to fox was just the best. Got some great videos. Only found them annoying when they got bigger and decided to “mark” the garden as theirs. Luckily they moved on. But having a fox eyeball you as it takes a messy shit in the middle of your grass is an experience I won’t forget any time soon.
