I understand most media reporting can be portrayed as propaganda, Does this channel count? Being it's funded by u.s, Does the u.s have the say so on what's produced and reported on the channel? Me myself I like watching the reporting from both sides of a conflict and coming to my own conclusion (opinion).

  1. It’s like someone saying they like to watch Mordor news and Rohan news, just to make their own opinion. Generally that’s a good advise, but not when russia is involved. russia is the real life Mordor, only more evil and corrupt.

  2. Funding for Radio Free Europe/Radio Europe and NPR were cut off by the Trump administration in May 2025.

  3. You can’t judge propaganda solely from funding sources but have to look at content.

Early in the Cold War when it started they were a bit more vigilantly anti-communist but for most of their life the most propaganda part of them has been the name, the Free part.

They existed it to spread democracy via spreading truth and knowledge to the people behind the Iron Curtain.

Also know that RFE/RL is not an arm of the government but a nonprofit independent that simply gets funding from, among other things, various departments of the US government. It’s not even based in the US.
