  1. I believe 2025 will bring a wave of large bankruptcies within Russia. Inflation is hollowing out the Russian economy.

  2. Bankruptcy doesn’t really concern me here, the Russian state can always step in and paper over the insolvency in some half assed manner.

More important is the actual functionality. Chronic understaffing, zero capital for improvements, maintenance backlog, deterioration of both track and rolling stock- The system is reaching the point of operational collapse, and that can’t be papered over.

  3. Fantastic news. Now time for some long range Ukrainian deliveries to cause some costly and problematic damage.

  4. Russia is not a western country it wont matter…but trains is their main logistics so the state will have to go in keep suppliers of spareparts paid….trains cant and wont stop…if they do russia would fall apart

  5. All that deferred maintenance and capital investment into Russian infrastructure is going to hit a breaking point hard some time soon.

All the money diverted from everything will end up costing them.

It will cost Ukraine too, but I feel there has been some care taken not to neglect things too much where possible and there are some prospects of getting outside help to replace and rebuild things.

  6. It will be get bailed out or get foreign subsidy in some way shape or form. This news make it feel like it’s something good, but it isn’t going to put a stop to anything in the way we hope. It will continue to function in one way or another unfortunately

  7. Now ruzzies will blow up their own railways, as a reason why trains are cancelled
