Customers around the country are experiencing internet outages.

Outage website Downdetector shows a spike in reported outages for One, Spark and 2Degrees in areas from Auckland to Wellington .

RNZ is contacting those providers for more information.

An RNZ reporter trying to contact One was played an automated message referring to outages affecting customers.

It comes after ‘human error’ caused a massive internet outage on 6 June, which saw many affected across the lower North Island.

That outage lasted more than an hour, with an estimated 90 percent of customers in Wellington, Kapiti, Hutt Valley, Palmerston North and through to Napier impacted.

More to come…
