It was a historic day on June 16 (Monday) as Netherlands and Nepal played out a historic triple super over in Glasgow. Chasing 153, Nepal managed to tie the scores in their regular 20 overs, but the two teams could not be separated after two super overs following the tie.
However, in the third super over, Zach Lion-Cachet picked up two wickets without conceding a run. Michael Levitt then finished the ball in just one ball, smashing it over the long-on fence for a six.

This is the first time that three super overs have been bowled in a T20 International (T20I). In fact, the only time multiple super overs were bowled was in the India vs Afghanistan fixture in Bengaluru last year.
In the normal 20 overs, Sandeep Lamichhane’s 3/18 put the brakes on the Dutch innings. Only Vikramjit Singh (30) and Teja Nidamanuru (35) managed to get past 30. Things seem to be going Nepal’s way, right till the end, but Rohit Paudel’s (48) dismissal just before the final over gave the Dutch hope.
With five required off the last ball, Nandan Yadav smashed Kyle Klein past mid-off into the fence to take the match into a super over.
Nepal would hope to put this match quickly behind them when they take on Scotland on June 17 (Tuesday) in Glasgow.
