In advocating for Russia, Trump even doesn’t bother to keep up appearances

    On Monday morning, as a G-7 summit got underway in Canada, Prime Minister Mark Carney welcomed the American president to the gathering, wished the U.S. Army a happy 250th birthday, and thanked the United States for its leadership role in the G-7. Trump spent a few moments thanking his host before turning his attention — unprompted — to Russia, a country that wasn’t invited to the international gathering.

  2. Do the G7 leaders think they can make Russia go away if they pretend it doesn’t exist?

  3. He shows up late with a big production.

    Rambles on about how everyone is being mean to his ex (Russia) complains about problems with the wife and kids at home (Democrats, etc) and gets shoved off the mic so people can do actual work.

    Then he sits in the corner on his phone waiting for an excuse to leave the party early.

    Everyone else came there to talk.  Trump only came to satisfy the minimum obligation of attendance and took three swag bags home instead of the one bag everyone else got.

    He didn’t go to G7 to accomplish anything or make any deals.  It was perfunctory and frankly insulting he would even bother to show up.

    He showed up to make headlines about Russia.  And here we are now.

  4. Why would he bother? He’s either a lame duck, or dictator for life…

  5. One thing is clear tho, the Russian face value have increased dramatically after the Iran war have stared. Partly it’s about the oil, Republicans can not afford another round of inflation, if they’re planing to stay i power. They’ll be obliterated in the midterms and Trump will become lame duck president. Another perhaps even more important reason is the raise of China. Trump naively believes that he’ll be able to bring Russia back into the western club, unfortunately we are way beyond the point of no return in this regard..
