This would make a phenomenal market. Kind of reminds me of the outside of the one in Budapest.
Should be turned into a boojum
How’s it so clean? Is it still maintained?
🤷
I love the railings on those stairs
Crazy how many beautiful historic buildings are just lying empty in Belfast
Took about 10 years to get the coroners courts out of the damn place. Was costing millions to keep open, broken heating, damp, terrible accessibility, plaster falling off the ceiling in courtrooms. Just not fit for purpose anymore, but obviously couldn’t be knocked down or changed usefully because it’s listed.
I know the people who finally managed to shutter it and it was a bit of a career highlight.
Hopefully they can flog it and pass the cost on to a developer at some point rather than the taxpayer, but it’s in a shit spot security-wise so it’ll probably just have to sit there and cost money
Student housing anyone?
And future Wetherspoons.
So many empty buildings in belfast that could be turned into housing.
