This place has been on our list for a while. It's only open Monday to Friday, so we had to coordinate time off during the week to get there.
The prices are unreal. I had the mackeral with rice and plantain, my other half had the small fry-up. ~£15 total including 2 soft drinks.
The menu is a combo of standard greasy spoon and sole Carribbean dishes.
It feels like a space you're probably not supposed to enter – it's a cafe inside a bus depot (not station) where drivers and otherbtfl folks go to chill out.

I pass by so often but have never been brave enough to even find out where the entrance is.
I think the idea is that its meant for bus drivers, it kind of makes me uncomfortable that people keep advertising this on Tiktok & the internet as a “hidden gem”. Its not for you lol
I keep trying to get my colleagues to go here for an office lunch but it’s not bougie enough for the young’uns. Do they have any avocado on the menu? Any vegan options?
Looks great ! Better than Angus Steakhouse?
That fish looks amazing.

Salivating over oxtail with rice and peas…
Worked in the area 10 years and didn’t know this existed
I’m pretty sure it’s for the tfl drivers themselves lolol, cool place with the Caribbean food
Just looked at a recent post on insta about it. It definitely has “staff canteen” vibes. (Pool table where the surface is fixed with gaffa tape, etc). But the mackerel looks like a great dish!!
Also lol, not a single vegetarian dish on the whole board.
A lot of bus garages have a canteen like this where running cost of the canteen operator are subsided so the drivers can eat cheaply and you can ring in or text and have a plate whacked into the fridge for you. The ones I’ve frequented often served Caribbean food, eg have jerk Friday and while you often wouldn’t know they are there are frequented by members of the public and often the police. I would say if it’s busy don’t clog up the seats and tables for the drivers on their breaks. They’ll do you a takeaway box most likely.
Where I live (Archway) had a small door in front of the now M&S, named “Metroline Canteen”, but I never saw it opened. Am I right to assume this would be something similar?
I worked across the road from this place for 14 years and didn’t know it had a cafe…
That fry-up looks bangin’.
I’ll be in the next flight…
Speaking of secret cafes – if you’re nice then you go to the canteen at the Malaysian Embassy. It’s mainly open to Malay, but on quiet days they’ll let you in. Incredible food – proper traditional Malaysian food, and it’s the price of a McDonalds
I’m lucky I have an East Asian partner as that seems to help.
