1. We can only hope the window with his name on it is drawing ever closer

5. So Trump is both weakening and strengthening Putin? Crazy.

7. Disagree. While there are drawbacks from this new war for Putin, like Iran wanting to keep/use more of the weapons they produce, the upside from potentially much higher oil prices, plus focus shifted away from Ukraine, probably makes it a net positive for him, unfortunately.

   In addition it’s useful rhetorically, makes the west’s criticism of illegal, unwarranted wars sound hollow in many ears.

8. Russia has lost a lot of influence in the region with Syria falling and Iran severely degraded. North Korea here we come.

9. Not necessarily a good thing. If someone in Russia is strong enough to overthrow Putin it’s likely to be an individual or group of people who want to win this war whatever the cost and things could become increasingly worse.

10. My only hope is when he goes he takes most of his axis with him.

11. Would any of you fine people who also speak Russian care to offer a Russian-language version of something that rolls off the tongue and sounds reminiscent of “Peter The Great”, but means “Vladimir The Collapser”, or “Putin The Ruiner Of Russia”, something like that? 

    I would just like to have a good historical name in the correct language at hand to drop into comments sometimes, that doesn’t sound like a google-translate job 🙂

12. All he has to do is eliminate any theoretical alternatives to his rule, and he could lose every other ally he has and still remain in power.

13. Make him an easy target too. Time for a regime change in the region. Russia, Iran, and North Korea. All three must go. Clean house.
