We assume it’s a trellis but (1) what is the shorter thing on the left and (2) why is the whole thing so low—we have to duck under it. I saw two of these in the area and they never have plants on them.

  3. Classic rug beater. Larger carpets across the long steel pipe, smaller rugs have been placed on the small side table (which normally had a bunch of bars to support the rugs).

  6. I once took a huge carpet to such one – but in another neighbourhood of the city since we did not have one, started to hit the carpet to dedust it – and some old lady called the police on us. Thankfully she shouted to us and told us so we had enough time to disappear.
