  1. It makes more sense when you realize javelins are not shot at people and instead multi million dollar tanks with poor people in them. Thanks for coming to my ted talk

  2. this is ‘political’ ‘humor’ because the US supports Ukraine? (the main military force that has been firing javelins this decade)

  3. Using it to destroy a tank that is 50x as expensive and currently invading your country seems like a pretty good investment to me.

  4. I gotta say System of a Down hits so good these past couple of weeks

  5. Each Javelin round costs ~~$240,000~~ $4999 * 5000% military industrial complex markup.

  6. “It ain’t me, it ain′t me
    I ain’t no senator’s son”

  7. The wealthy ‘bone spurs’ elite have always exploited the financially poor to enlist in their nation’s armies while they refused to do themselves. And, they are poor because they have been exploited by the same elites and their parents and grandparents. Oh, wait! That’s the Trump family!

  8. The whole purpose of the javelin is to prevent the damage that the guy in the tank is out to cause. This meme leaves out that part of the equation

  9. System of a Down had a song about this exact thing.

    BYOB

  10. In general, javelins are fired at armored vehicles that cost more than the javelin. If you want to kill a person generally, you’d fire a bullet that costs about $0.10-$2 depending on the type of bullet.

But also what a weird comparison. People are willing to fire a javelin at a tank for the pay they receive. There probably aren’t many soldiers that would take on a tank with their bare hands for 200k. And even if you found some they’d probably fail, so not many people would be willing to pay that.

  11. And all that so they don’t have to pay 10k a year feeding them

  12. Its a genocidal empire that is partner of another genocidal empire that is destroying ukraine, every dollar spend to make the women in iran free is money well spent

  13. Why don’t president fight the war? Why do they always send the poor?

  14. This doesn’t make sense. Do you and the person you’re firing at need to afford the weapons system for it to be fair or okay?

  15. Assuming this valuation is accurate, a javelin missile is a 240 thousand dollar piece that can take out an armored vehicle that is worth, quite possibly, 100x that amount. We can have intelligent conversations about war without devolving into whatever this post is.

  16. That’s absolutely hilarious. r/PoliticalHumor post of the year.

  17. We eliminated the department that negotiated contracts for weapons around 2001-02. Its been on the honor system since then. Remember that as they move to cut the VA, they also give a blank check to weapons manufacturers.

  18. 100% agreed but if Kamala was in charge, places like these wouldn’t be posting stuff like this and we’d be celebrating how she broke the glass ceiling by being the first black woman President to start a war unilaterally.

  19. Forgot the punchline.

It is so outrageous, that it makes the whole war thing seem winnable.

  20. The rich really need to battle it put between themselves or a designated champion. No need to involve everyone else. Heck, they can just make everything virtual or like an online game.

Heart of Iron IV type duel.

There is no need to involve civilians. They just wager their own assets or they follow whatever rule they imposed on each other.

  21. The two I fired is still more than I’ve made in my life xD
