I cannot understand why people are paying between £995 and £2595 to put a tent on top of their car.
There are equally good normal tents for about a tenth of the price.

Is there a festival this weekend, maybe somewhere near Glastonbury?
My wife asked me the other day why there were so many and I hadn’t noticed it. But now I’ve seen them everywhere. Have I missed something? Is it just the latest craze or is there more to it?
Gosh they’re so majestic when you see them in their natural habitat
Having been at a campsite when torrential rain and winds hit, those aren’t great, woke up to someone’s collapsing on them, whilst our guide ropes were holding our tent up strong
Just think these will be all over market place for next to nothing with mouldy fabric soon as nobody will want them and the next cool thing has arrived 😂
Is it mating season yet?
To be fair. We have one. Its fabulous 🙂 takes 30 seconds to pop up and the same to put away. Has a really comfy memory foam mattress in it and is actually pretty big inside. Its ideal as it guarantees me a comfy sleep, with no wet ground sheets etc to be folding up and moving each night.
Don’t knock it till you’ve tried it! I don’t own one but I’ve used one that a family member has – expensive yes, but if you can afford it, beats sleeping in any ground tent I’ve ever tried and getting it set up and packed away (especially in British weather) is a piece of piss
After all the hate Ive given them a Google… they look pretty cool!!
I bet they’re pretty good – but the people who leave them on year round are asking for trouble in this country. One winter of salt, rain and road shite will have that wrecked in no time.

Not knowing what Tent boxes are before not, can someone explain if those ginormous square things you see people with on their backs when out hiking are a similar concept? (Without a car of course)

And they’ll be driving around with those things on the roof of the car until next summer.

The Reddit hive mind really has got it in for these. They seem decent to me. Yes, pricey, but people will pay for convenience and they look dead simple to put up.
If it gets people out enjoying the countryside, and it’s not causing anyone any grief, then I don’t see a problem.
Tent boxes always ride in single file to hide their numbers.
