This isn’t new. This has been part of their several decade plan…
Well they sure as hell are doing everything they can to make us a nation of morons. Gotta make it is difficult as possible to pay for your education so we can fill up those factories!

To an observer from outside the US: the plot seems to have been successful.
This has been going on since the GOP started their Southern Strategy in the wake of the Nixon Administration.
Look at the literacy rate.
It’s over.
If your were a senior in high school right now and not wealthy or eligible for a scholarship, would college even be an option?
Gen X and Millennials with degrees will see that degree value skyrocket while companies will see a dramatic decrease in college educated workers applying.
It all comes down to Trump destroying any and all economic improvement for those below the upper class except for military veterans.
Donald is the President because this plan has already worked.
The Dumbification of America with its appropriate acronym of DOA.
We’re living in an Idiocracy decades in the planning and making.
What seems clear to me is that the GOP, rather than to change their policies and views to fit the needs/wants of people, are attempting to use propganda in education in order to get people to follow their beliefs.
The owners of this country … don’t want well-informed, well-educated people capable of critical thinking … That’s against their interest … They want obedient workers … people who are just smart enough to run the machines and do the paperwork, and just dumb enough to passively accept all these increasingly shittier jobs.

50 years in the making and it’s totally paid off. Their base will not swagger. They shift with every new talking point. The goal post can never be set. There is no line they can’t cross.
I once heard a Reagan staffer talk about how an “educated proletariat” was disadvantageous to their interests. They know what they’re doing.
“Un-educating” the USA hasn’t stopped the most stupid person I have ever had the misfortune to see or hear in my lifetime becoming POTUS. We in the UK have MAGA-wannabes in the Reform party who will look to do the same and we have our fair share of knuckle draggers willing to vote them in too according to the polls so it’s not exclusive to you guys. The world seems pretty fucked up at the moment.
They tell Americans college is a scam, yet continue to send their own kids. That enough should be evidence for most people.
This is THE biggest contributor to our current state of affairs imo, and also THE biggest thing we need to *focus* on moving forward.
This isn’t to uneducate America, its to make more low-wage part-time hourly employees to work at Amazon and Walmart among others
The Christian right had been pushing to uneducate the US since the early 70s, Chris Hedges has a entire book about what is happening that was published in 07
All Republicans I know, regardless of their income, have a fundamental lack of empathy and you get that through lack of experience or lack of learning from experience.
They don’t think critically and have no interest in stepping into someone else’s shoes. There’s no interest in culture or history outside of their own.
People exposed to culture often develop empathy. You often get that in large cities and college, which are two places that Republicans are almost allergic to.
They’ve already succeeded, imo. The average American is honestly a total dumbass. I’m intelligent and have done well despite my k-12 education, not because of it. We had 20 and 30 year old textbooks, teachers that taught civil war as “state’s rights,” and they treated evolution as a crackpot theory.
Being neurodivergent is the only reason I learned outside of school and have moved on to do well in university. People in most k-12 programs aren’t taught to think critically, or to educate themselves properly, or to question the information they’re being fed. It’s been going on for decades. It’s a big part of why we’re in this mess.
I thought that Biden tried multiple times to instigate loan forgiveness, but guess who stopped him? Am I wrong on this? Also, always, ALWAYS, it somehow loops back to that twat Reagan!
“Keep ’em stupid. We need a base.”
That’s already happened. The standard of education and critical thinking in the US is appalling compared to most other developed countries.
This has been the plan for decades and we have been screaming at you about the entire time. Stupid people vote Republican and they fucking know it.
Back when CNN would give full access to exit polls there was one that always stood out to me.
It called for highest level of education completed and the party you support. This would have been for the 2000 and 2004 elections.
It was 2 triangles and night and day. The less education, the higher chance you voted republican. Like night and day. The more education, the more likely you’d vote democrat.
Before any GOP freaks out, it doesn’t mean all republicans are less educated, it just means the less education you have, the more likely you’d vote for a republican.
It’s also exactly how it plays out in my personal life. They like to claim education brainwashes which is a very convenient excuse for lacking education I guess. It also makes sense. One party bans books and hides from ideas it doesn’t like. One embraces growth. One party has a fixed mindset, one has growth, and it attracts those types of voters. Sorry republicans, I know you won’t like these facts.
It started in the late ‘80s with the idea that gaining knowledge that won’t be of use to your career is a waste of time and money. Funny how that was never the case at elite prep schools and universities.
