Western politicians want Ukraine to take all the heat from Russia, but Ukraine isn’t actually wanted in NATO and EU.
Even if Ukraine won the war against Russia, it would be just left in ruins as soon as West loses interest.
Just let them in straight away and give russia a 2 week deadline to leave Ukraine before Article 5 is triggered..
Nothing EU/NATO says should be taken seriously. They have been saying all the great things they can make happen, yet there are no actions to prove themselves…

Probably going to have to wait until Trump is out of office. The next president will likely approve Ukraine’s request.
I’d love to see Ukraine admitted now, but to change the rules to approve Ukraine’s entry while they’re in active conflict with Russia would require unanimous approval and Krasnov just isn’t going to go for it. Trump can’t legally withdraw from NATO but he can hamstring it and drag the processes out and delay until his term is up or he gets 25th Amendment’d or impeached and removed should the republicans get shellacked in the midterms.
I think letting the best army in Europe into NATO might be a fucking great idea… I don’t know about you?

The irony for putin is he probably could’ve gotten a “we won’t join nato” treaty signed in exchange for Crimea back. Ukraine wasn’t on this path until Russia invaded.
