    Sovereign Citizen stuff in there, some chem trails and a bit of Freemasonry on top.

    Doesn’t take a genius to spot this, but this isn’t a very good one.

    Sadly, there’s a very strong, concerted effort to target disadvantaged areas with this stuff, because it offers easy solutions to incredibly complex social issues. It makes people believe that if they discover “the truth”, their lives will improve. Self discovery is far more of a powerful tool than explanation, so these people leave “breadcrumbs” and lead people to a conclusion rather than tell them. It inflates their ego, making them think they’re more intelligent, worth more as people and that the reason their lives haven’t worked out is the fault of one particular group.

    Of course, those targeted people absolutely have value and intelligence, but they don’t feel it’s validated. These groups step in and give them validation where society doesn’t. It’s like a cult, really.

    And there’s a hell of a lot of money behind it. It’s a grift. There’ll be a book, or a course, or a membership fee or something they will end up having to pay. That’s how it always ends.

    I’m not even addressing the bollocks that is the actual conspiracies, I’ve just spent the better part of 3 years in QAnon forums pretending to believe Satan lives in New York so that those people would open up to me (it worked though) and my sanity needs to reboot.

    But if you see this, or anybody handing it out, calmly and politely challenge it if you feel you can. Acknowledge their belief, use a smile and a laugh but understand that some of the genuine believers are suffering serious delusions brought on by a variety of issues. They need help that they can’t get, so they’re turning to stuff like this.

  32. That Chemtrails is still a popular conspiracy theory is absolutely wild. Apparently they spray to hide things in the sky. The constant clear days of the first lockdown surely should have killed this particular conspiracy theory off entirely.
