  1. The western colonial history was part of numerous broader races to world dominance. The Dutch and Spanish had spearheaded the colonial movement before the French and British joined the race. With the incorporation of East Indian company and the establishment of local governments in their respective colonial settlements, international trade of materials and goods was facilitated through the advancement of navigation technology and development of international markets. However, the British eventually emerged as the most notable colonial power thanks to the efficiency of its colonial administration and proliferation of English language.

  2. Accurate but also don’t go thinking most Brits dont know the reality. Despite the books we know what our ancestors did to others as well as our own.

  3. You’ve never read a British history book if you believe this nonsense

  4. Should have fought a bit harder then, shouldn’t they?

  5. Colonial powers by evil:

    1. Spain and it isn’t even close

    2. France

    3. Portugal

    4. Belgium

    5. England and Italy (tie)

    7. Netherlands

  6. And yet, no shortage of people wanting to come here. Strange…
