  1. Uhm. Did you check the prices? Look at the prices, they will tell you if it’s normal?

  2. I know parking in Oslo is expensive but seems a bit extreme, avoid parking long term in the city centre though, find a long term parking lot a bit in the outskirts within walking distance of a subway stop instead and you should be able to find something much cheaper.

  3. I know parking places in Norway are scam but didnt know they are that much 😀

  4. Which parking company, which garage, what are the rates?

  5. Lol for 3 days as well. That’s insane and hopefully a mistake

  6. Did you not check the costs first? Ouch. I hope for your sake it’s not correct.

  7. I know of one or two places in Oslo centre where this could be right. Although usually they have a max rate for pr.24 hour. Check the prices.

  8. What location was this? Seems wrong to me.
Long term parking spots around here is 60 or 190 per day.

One of the garages here offer 3 months for 2600, so you could park for 10400 per year.

  9. You parked for nearly 64 hours, and with that amount it means parking was a little under 200kr an hour. That’s high but not unheard of if you’re right in the city centre. But usually garages have some max day rate. Can you say specifically which garage this is?

  10. if you are asking if this is normal, then please add some more information on what company you are parked with, where this is, is this a 24 hour parking spot where you pay pr hour etc.
Sorry but without this information, then its just a guess-show from our side..

But yes, their are a couple of places in Oslo where you pay by the hour and 150 NOK an hour doesnt sound that unfair. I know that Aker Brygge has 90 NOK for the first 3 hours then 156 NOK after 3 hours..

  11. It’s usually between 650-750 for 24 hours, so you found the most expensive spot 😢

  12. This is why I’m generally against renting cars in Norway — best public transportation in the world vs. the hassles of parking, slow speed limits and vicious enforcement.

  13. No, it is not normal to leave your car in a parking house for two days straight.

Mostly due to the prices, but still.

  14. That’s 200 kr per hour. Not usual, but not unheard of either. Where was this?

Many expensive places have a maximum price per day. I advice that you check out their terms to see if this is an error or not.

  15. That was not a long term parking lot. The prices are very different between long terms and short terms. You’ve parked at one that expects minutes or hours from it’s users, not days.

  16. Yikes… at that price, is it cheaper to just calculate parking fines instead? (I don’t drive in Oslo, so I have no clue, but yeah. Holyfuckingshit.)

  17. This comes out to about 200NOK per hour. In isolation that is not unrealistic in some of the more central parking garages in Oslo, but most places have a max rate per 24 hours that kicks in after some hours of parking, capping the per day cost.

As an example, [Bankplassen P-hus](https://www.aimopark.no/byer/oslo/bankplassen-p-hus/) charges 150NOK per hour for the most expensive spots, which in theory means 3600NOK per 24 hours – but they have a cap of 999 NOK per 24 hours which kicks in when you pass about 7 hours.

You need to check the states prices for the parking garage you used to see what applies there, but my guess is there is a 24 hours rate that didn’t kick in when it was supposed to.
