Speaking to Bloomberg’s Oliver Crook at the NATO summit in The Hague, Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kestutis Budrys says he hopes the NATO summit will demonstrate the alliance is the “strongest and most lethal power on the globe” but says they need to “speed up” capability targets to keep up with Russian defense production. He says Lithuania’s ambition is to be number one amongst NATO for defense spending and he hopes other members will follow suit. Turning to the topic of Iran, he discusses the broader impact that the Iran-Israel conflict may have on Russia’s alliances, saying “the weaker this axis is, the safer Europe is”.
