  4. It wasn’t even botched it was doubtful it could even be successful from the start. Netanyahu knew it was unlikely bunker busters could prevail and didn’t care because it was all a show for his own benefit, had nothing to do with Israelis security.  He’s liked at home when Muslims are dying and that’s the only time Israelis care for him.

  21. Hardly surprising. Anyone who has been paying attention knew about his failed campaigns during his first term, how incompetent his administration is, and his catastrophic Afghanistan withdrawal that he pushed onto Biden.

  22. He’s just so fragile. Everything has to be the single greatest human accomplishment, until the next thing he “does”. He can’t accept that things might not be perfect every time something is attempted but he never actually leaves room for anything to have not exceeded expectations because he announces triumph before knowing any facts since every act he takes is by definition faultless the outcome is always what was intended.

    This all works as long as his followers don’t actually care about the truth which this issue seems to be one where his grip on controlling the narrative is tenuous.

    For those who work in government, including those in national security, *faithfully executing* their duty begins with honesty about whether the strategy is working.

    Good God, wouldn’t we all want to know if a strike on Iran’s nuclear sites failed? Early honesty gives us time to craft a new plan.

  30. When Iran coordinated the “attack”on American bases and accepted the cease fire I was thinking this is too easy. Something is not right. They should’ve been way more pissed. But now it’s clear. We only damaged the program setting them back a few months. So give Trump his “win” and provide a performance that he would want. No need to give America reason to continue the attack or realize that it was not as successful as Trump is thumping about. Iran was smart and didn’t interfere with our mistake. Jesus, Trump is a true idiot.

  36. The bombing was fine. Targets were hit. The facilities just aren’t easy to damage as getting through rock is difficult.

    What was botched was his own “Mission Accomplished” moment where he bragged about things being totally destroyed and setting them back decades. The latter is a ridiculous comment in this day and age given there won’t really be knowledge loss (things aren’t done on paper anymore). Broken centrifuges and what not are inconveniences not major set backs.

    If only someone had negotiated an agreement with Iran where they would be supplied nuclear fuel in exchange for not doing enrichment….

It’ll now become an arms race for these countries to build these deep underground facilities to research and build up Nuclear stockpiles. Good job.     Trump holistically believes in “The Secret”‘s method of wishing/manifesting reality and believes with his unbridled narcissism he can just “will” the world and reality to bend to any outcome he desires. Once again, Obama’s quote “Reality has a funny way of asserting itself” holds true here (in fact we should use thatagainst him, it will drive him insane). Chickens are coming home to roost on the widespread, unguarded incompetence he has surrounded himself with out of convenience of not being told “no” but the problem is incompetence is manifesting as accidental and far more inconvenient “NOs” than he expected. I expect many, many more meltdowns and him burning bridges he desperately needs to uphold his “strongman” image and actually have any leverage over Congress. There’s already dissent within his own party and now MAGA over this. It would all be hilarious if it weren’t so consequential to us everyday citizens. Although I will enjoy watching his administration and his malignant narcissism destroy his presidency from the inside out.
