With great joy and spiritual delight, the Holy Metropolis of Sweden and All Scandinavia announced to the devout faithful of the Mother Church of Constantinople in Scandinavia that, following the administrative reorganization of the parishes in Sweden and Norway and the legal recognition of the Parish of St. Bartholomew in Reykjavik, Iceland, the process for the legal recognition of the St. George Parish of the Holy Metropolis in Roskilde, Denmark, was successfully completed on June 24, 2025, in accordance with the provisions of the applicable legislation and the relevant decisions of the competent state authorities of Denmark.

This parish, already an active and vibrant part of the local Church, now gains full legal status, which strengthens its pastoral, liturgical, and social ministries.

This recognition seals the efforts of those who contributed to this successful outcome and marks the beginning of a new and creative spiritual period.

Metropolitan Cleopas of Sweden and All Scandinavia, having been informed of this news through correspondence, offers prayers of thanksgiving to the Triune God and expresses his gratitude to the Kingdom of Denmark and the responsible Ministry for their excellent cooperation.

He also extends his thanks to all those who contributed to the completion of the process and prays that God’s Grace strengthens the parish’s ministry for the glory of His Name and the benefit of those who turn to the Ark of salvation; the Church.
