Aye its the kind of thing that would have ended and the powers that be would have just brushed right over it.
Pretty awful stuff. It’s interesting that the Scottish Government/Parliament often apologises for things that happened before it existed, meanwhile the Scotland Office, who held responsibility back then, don’t make a peep.
Granted the First Minister is the elected leader of the country, but you’d think the actually government office responsible would have something to say.
I didn’t realise Swinney was old enough to be involved.
My 3 year old had an altercation with another kid at nursery. After a stern chat, we agreed she needed to say sorry. She was upset about it.
“I don’t want to, can you do it for me?”
No, I said. It doesn’t mean anything if I do it for you. Either you say sorry, or John Swinney does it. That’s your only option.
