  1. If moderate centrist refuse to get behind Mamdami i think progressives across the country should refuse to vote, for any moderates in their districts. Fuck around and find out

  2. If the party supports Cuomo, it’s all the evidence the nation needs that Democrats would rather lose than learn. If that happens, the party leadership needs to be replaced completely. No one’s seat should be safe.

  3. >Sources told CNN that Cuomo’s team believes the broader general electorate could be more receptive to his candidacy than primary voters.

    >When asked if he was “worried” about a re-do, Mamdani said, “We did it once and it turned out pretty well.”

Cuomo’s team thinks they can rely on Republicans to bail them out since they don’t care about their leaders sexually harrassing/assaulting women or people dying from covid in senior living facilities. That’s the broader general electorate he’s talking about.

Mamdani doesn’t miss a beat with this well worded responses to questions.

  4. As an elder millennial, it is so refreshing to see another person younger than me that has been able to break through the establishment and rise to prominence. AOC is another great example. It’s shameful that the “old guard” still refuses to concede and step aside when they’ve been bested and rather try to split the vote.

You’ve had your chance, give us ours and stop trying to suppress the younger (never thought I’d say mid 40’s were younger) people from participating and leading.

  5. If you run a campaign in a party primary, you should be barred from running in the general election if you lose.

If you want to run as an independent that is fine, but you should have to be an independent from the start.

  6. India Walton in Buffalo should be of guidance to those downstate

  7. Primary everyone. These clowns don’t give a fuck about anything but their own jobs.

  8. Centrists need to read the fucking room and get the fuck out of here.

So obvious that they’d rather a Republican win than real change.

  9. If Barack Obama was coming up in this environment, he would be shut down by the establishment Dems. There was a time when Democrats would celebrate a diverse and pro-consumer politician. I just can’t fathom that the party thinks toeing this centrist line is the right call when poll after poll say voters are sick of the status quo.

  10. Cuomo doesn’t know the meaning of the word ‘no’.

  11. Also Mamdani won the young vote. You want a better way to have young people not vote in swing states and in the generals again? Pull this shit.

  12. Bro forcing himself on voters like he did with those women

  13. It bothers me that republicans fell in line behind Trump in the last 3 elections and it’s never in doubt, but democrats never fall in line.

I’m sorry, let me rephrase: *centrist* dems expect progressives to fall in line (vote blue no matter who) but the second a progressive candidate gets a nomination they can’t even be bothered to support the candidate.

  14. I really hope the Democrats are prepared for the consequences if Cuomo ends up winning in the end through their support because that would be a surefire way to piss off their left-wing who already distrusts them.

With absolutely vital midterms coming up over a year from now, one would hope the Democrats don’t do anything that causes issues with a base that wants a shift from the status quo.

  15. Man what a sore loser. Hope he and Adams split the vote and both fail

  16. Goddamn, that generation just *does not know when to go home to their grandchildren*!

The level of entitlement we’re dealing with here is just off-the-charts insufferable.

Boomers, Silents! Please, we’re begging you to STOP. Let your children, grandchildren, and some of you great-grandchildren have a say in the world they have to live in.

  17. This is early days, but my initial estimation is that Cuomo and Eric Adams will split whatever part of the electorate would (normally) have supported one or the other of them. Having both (Cuomo and Adams) insist on sticking it out will (probably) only hurt both of them.

Also: why the fuck is Cuomo even running?

Also: ranked choice voting absolutely impacts the game-theory voters utilize in casting a ballot. Cuomo could well simply not realize that, yet.

Also: Cuomo could still win, New York City has a terrible track record in choosing mayors; we shall see!

  18. What a perfect example of the old dems that we WANT GONE and their stubbornness and egos that will doom our democracy (I am 60 and I want these old, tired, dems OUT)

  19. Called it.

I’ve said this for years: “Centrist” Democrats would rather lose to someone like Trump, than win with an actual progressive. Now, the state Democratic party are about to start backing Cuomo, shit on Mamdani, and hand NYC back over to Adams’ pathetic ass.

    Good Luck, New York.

  20. This is a truly MAGA move by Cuomo. Undermining the democratic process because he couldn’t win honestly.

  21. Cuomo needs to be relentlessly attacked for participating in a primary that he had no intention of honoring.
