    The Trump administration has announced the termination of Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Haiti, impacting over 520,000 Haitian nationals residing in the United States.

    Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem stated that the designation will expire on August 3, 2025, with the termination taking effect on September 2, 2025. This decision reverses an 18-month extension granted under former President Joe Biden’s administration, which would have extended protections until February 2026.

    Trump is always backed by the supreme court.

    In the 1930s, the Hitler-supporting politicans and judges thought they could control Hitler: when he went too far they could say, “enough now”

    What they didn’t realise was that he had changed the laws and protocols: he now controlled them. AND THEY HAD AGREED TO IT ALL.

  12. I just read that a majority of Latinos voted for Trump. Some of these people losing status are friends, cousins, nephews, nieces, etc. of Latino Trump voters. Can those voters admit their responsibility for this? How about the Afghanistan vets who voted for Trump? How do they feel about those translators who risked their lives to work with them and are now being sent back to Afghanistan, where the best case scenario is they will be imprisoned?

    Should we start calling ICE something like ICE-IS. They are the same as the Kremlin, the Ministry of State Security in North Korea and China or any of the other alt-right militias that other countries also currently have to put up with all so a handful of billionaires can gain more power over the poor.

  28. The short sightedness baffles me. I’m a purple-turned-blue type over the last 10 years. Even if you agree with what is going on, you shouldn’t be agreeing with what is going on simply on the basis of precedent.

    If the Republicans can go door to door rounding up immigrants under executive authority, then the door is open for the next Democrat to use executive authority to go door to door rounding up and confiscating guns.

    Even if morality, legality, and none of these things get through to people, one would hope self interest would get you there.

  30. We already have seen Republicans in power asking for the winner of the Democratic primary for mayor in NYC to be deported. In order to get the numbers they want to tout, they have to change the system. It’s not going to stop here and I have zero confidence the Supreme Court will do anything about it at all.
