Beaumont — A turkey on the loose in west Beaumont was spared a pre-Thanksgiving fate thanks to a quick-thinking rescuer who saved it from two dogs chasing it down a street.
Beaumont Animal Care posted a photo and story on its Facebook page. ACO Hettinger and trainee ACO Nevils were called out to the 5200 block of Laurel Avenue on a call reporting a turkey tried to get away from two dogs.
A caller was able to pick up the turkey and keep it safe in a car until help arrived.
Animal Care officers safely secured the two dogs, and if the turkey goes unclaimed, it will be up for adoption with a $20 fee. Applications can be submitted below.
