I can imagine the russian equivalent as Ivan with his fishing rod and a mock drone hovering at head height walks towards the new recruits armed with shotguns.
Okay, who wants to replace Ivan and be the drone now ?
That’s a pretty ingenious way to train on this task tbh
Good training
There are special tracer shotgun rounds available which allow for visual confirmation of flight path of shotgun pellets, this would likely increase the benefit from training ([Fiocchi Cyalume](https://www.nbcnews.com/id/wbna39505507) tracer shotgun shells).
Would shooting skeet not be effective training?
There has gotta be a better way?
What about autonomous drone interceptors? Carried on a backpack?
That’s actually really cool and looks fun…
The AA-12 auto shotgun, fed with a mag (8 rounds) or drum (20-32 rounds), was just ahead of its time. Or maybe it’s still available to buy or to license for production.

now introduce some bumps to the ride
Better than nothing
The music makes it sound like an episode of Mythbusters
It’s kinda crazy how fast stuff evolves during war
Gotta give it to the AFU, they are incredibly inventive. Definite Britain-in-WWII vibes.
I feel like putting a guy in the back of a pick up and driving through a field with a training drone following them would be a better, more realistic way to approach this
American hunters laughing in redneck.
Man range day is gonna be AWESOME!
You can argue that they invented a new type of sport shooting in the process of making this method of training. That’s friggin awesome.
This is almost the same method the British flying core used to train machinegunners during ww1…
shot all linked together so it expands a web to improve the entanglement factor plus increasing the chances of triggering the main fuse and detonating the drone further away from its target
I love this
