Me and my partner decides on going to poland for our vacation this year and it has left a great impression on both of us. I honestly had a bit of a shallow view of poland and mostly expected it to be a bit gopnik and vodka filled country.

But in visiting Gdansk, Torún and Warsaw i came to realize how beautiful and friendly your country is. Everyone (and i mean everyone) we’ve met and interacted with has been very friendly and understanding despite the language barrier and the food has been out of this world (my heart is breaking when i think about leaving those jelly filled donuts behind).

But last night we experienced something out of this world. After enjoying some drinks in central warsaw we passed by the Culture palace(?) and happened upon a silent disco taking place in the middle of the square.
We decided to check it out and met some friendly faces in the queue who helped us feel welcome.

A magical night with singing, dancing and laughter ensued, and it became a night i’m sure to remember for the rest of my life.

Thank you Warsaw, thank you Poland.
I welcome you all to visit sweden and i hope we can give you all just as warm a welcome as you gave us.

  1. I’m glad you liked it.

FYI “gopnik” is a Russian thing, just like “chavs” are English. In Poland we have dresiarze, dresy, kibole, karki, penerzy, patusy etc. One of them even became president.

  2. 1) There’s no word gopnik in polish you ignorant.
    2) So you expected 3rd world country but you’ve got average 1st world country and decided someone could take it as a compliement? Spierdalaj.
    3) You have more crime per capita in Sweden than we in Poland. About 40-50% more based on Eurostat stats, but some people here in Poland think even that it’s very dangerous to go outside after 10pm and all of your country is flooded by drug dealers, cutthroats and bombers. But in my opinion they overestimate the risk of danger. I could for example easily walk in Malmo at night and felt safe. My “compliment” for you country.

  3. Stalin’s dick sure does clean up nice.

Glad you had such a good time!

  4. Very glad you liked it. Despite people hating on comments! Be welcome again. Warsaw is actually a very cool plac, you can find everything you like honestly. Month ago I had a birthday party and we went on a “schodki” near the Vistula river.

I personally don’t like when someone’s singing happy birthday to me and I pleased every person at the party to not do that. They listened.

BUT! As soon as we arrived at schodki… they gave me hellium filled balloons with my age. There were so many people that night. There’s some sort of boat parade that night. AND believe me, some random guys came to us and started singing sto lat (happy birthday) EVERYONE at the schodki JOINED them and sang to me.

Still hate the song but it was magical. A night worth remembering.

  5. Ignore the comments. A lot of people in this sub are xenophobic and racist since they are mad someone’s having fun while they aren’t. Glad you had fun, I might actually visit Sweden in the coming years.

  6. Please spell the name of the city right – it’s Warsaw not Warzaw –

if you like it here and want to be welcome warmly next time, respect it at least to the level of having 2 seconds to think about spelling the name right:)

  7. You come from a Western open-minded and fairly liberal country yet you still believed Poland is full of “gopnik” and “vodka” vibe? Not sure if there’s any salvation for you in this world and for many others who are such ignorant people despite living in the democratic countries with freedom of speech, having easy access to information and ability to move freely everywhere with their passports. It’s a terrible state of things if you can’t even write Warsaw correctly. Good luck.
