People still don’t understand. The conflict between democratic and republican ideals died when Citizens United was passed. It has been billionaires and corporations against the middle class ever since. Both sides have been compromised by corporate money. Just look at the laws and bills that have come to pass in the last 15 years. The politicians talking about wages and workers rights are being called communist and socialist, even by their own party members. The majority of our politicians are owned. Voting out all republicans or all democrats won’t be enough to change any of this until citizens United has been repealed and we remove the blatant bribing that has corrupted our government.

You would think the popularity of AOC and Bernie out there putting together big rallies would be enough for them to say hey, maybe there is something to this type of thing and support more candidates of that persuasion in areas of the country where it is a good fit. Like New York.

Between this and the impeachment shoot-down having solid bipartisan support, I’m starting to believe the “controlled opposition” rhetoric.
This could be avoided if people didn’t stay home and let Trump win
I keep seeing these memes, but I haven’t seen the Democratic party as a whole really speak out against him at all, just like 1-2 democrats who say they don’t support all of his stances.

Communist freaks are stupid (but usually well meaning), and not good in power.
Because the both sides argument is valid when it comes to the DNC and democratic leadership. Some elected democrats are progressive. The vast majority are center-right and continue to move right. We don’t have a socialist party like the right fear mongers about. Well, we do but it’s conservatives for the rich and corporations. For the rest of us it’s bootstraps, thoughts and prayers.

Having said that. Communist ideas a a little too left in my mind but some democratic socialism where the rich do not get to keep all of the money would be ok.

I can’t believe I’m saying this but Democrats need to take a page from Republicans. Support a candidate that is popular with voters even if you don’t like them. That’s what happened with Trump in 2016. A lot of republicans hated him but saw he was popular so backed him anyways.

I’ve seen 10 times more people complaining about Democrats not supporting Zohran Mamdani than I have actually Democrats complaining about him. So, these posts just reek of a psyop to further sow division among Democrats.
I didn’t realize Kirsten Gillibrand and some random NYC city official represents the entire Democratic party

Well you know for them one enables them to keep up the “fighting for you” image so they can keep collecting the salaries, benefits, and have full healthcare available to them while the rest of us have nothing.
